Fall 2026 Pre-Finals Days, Reading Day and Final Exam Days

Pre-Finals Days are the Wednesday and Thursday (December 2 and 3, 2026) before Reading Day. On these days no new material may be disseminated. Extracurricular and organizational activities are also suspended. Compressed or irregularly scheduled classes and classes that meet only once per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays are exempted from this requirement.

Reading Day is December 4, 2026. No classes are held on this day. The only exception to this rule is classes scheduled to meet Fridays ONLY. Extracurricular and organizational activities are also suspended.

Final Exam Week runs from the last Saturday (December 5, 2026) through the last Thursday (December 11, 2026) of the semester. Classes scheduled for the full Fall semester as well as the second eight-week session will have their final exams during final exam week in December. Classes scheduled in the first eight-week session will have their exams at the end of their session in October.

Interpreting the Final Exam Schedule

The Final Exam schedule is built around the first day-of-the-week and the earliest start time classes normally meet at during the semester. The exam schedule is also separated by classes that normally meet on the main campus versus Discovery Park and the class’s session. Courses held at Frisco have their own final exam schedule.

Classes will have their exams in their regular meeting space UNLESS otherwise notified by their instructor. Please check your UNT student email inbox and Canvas to stay up to date.

Accounting Departmental Exams

The Accounting Departmental final exam for ACCT 2010 (Accounting Principles I) will be held in-person Wednesday, December 9 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

The Accounting Departmental final exam for ACCT 2020 (Accounting Principles II) will be held in-person Monday, December 7 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Online Classes

Synchronous online classes (online courses meeting at a regularly scheduled time) should be scheduled in accordance with the Final Exam schedule provided above for their respective session.

Asynchronous online classes (online courses that do NOT meet at a regularly scheduled time) should check their class syllabus or contact their instructor for the date and time of their online final exam.

Faculty teaching Asynchronous online courses are strongly encouraged to offer online exams. Faculty planning to schedule a period during which students can take a final exam should include the schedule time on their syllabus and adhere to the applicable schedule:

Asynchronous online classes meeting in the first eight-week session (meets August 17 through October 9) should schedule their final between Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10.

Asynchronous online classes meeting for the whole Fall semester or during second eight-week session (meet October 12 through December 11) should adhere to the following schedule:
