Pre-Finals and Reading Days
Pre-Finals Days are the Wednesday and Thursday before Reading Day (May 1-2, 2024). On these days no new material may be disseminated. Extracurricular and organizational activities are also suspended. Compressed or irregularly scheduled classes and classes that meet only once per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays are exempted from this requirement.
Reading Day is May 3, 2024. No classes are held on this day. The only exception to this rule are classes scheduled to meet Fridays ONLY. Extracurricular and organizational activities are also suspended.
Interpreting the Final Exam Schedule
The Final Exam schedule is built around the days-of-the-week and the start time classes normally meet at during the semester. The exam schedule is also separated by classes that normally meet on the Main Campus versus Discovery Park. Courses held at Frisco have their own final exam schedule.
Classes will have their exams in their regular meeting space UNLESS otherwise notified by their instructor. Please check your UNT student email inbox and Canvas to stay up-to-date.
The following are used to identify the day-of-the-week a class meets:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday = Mo/We/Fr.
- Tuesday, Thursday = Tu/Th.
- Saturday = Sa.
- Sunday = Su.

What if my Class is not Listed? – Main Campus
The following information will help students and instructors interpret the Final Exam schedule if their class’s meeting pattern or start time are not explicitly listed on the schedule. Please contact the Registrar’s Office for questions regarding the schedule.
Classes that normally meet Mo/We/Fr before 5:00 P.M. AND start on the half-hour should use the HOUR as a guide to determine their final exam time.
- For example, a class that normally meets Mo/We 9:30 A.M. would follow the Mo/We/Fr 9:00 A.M. schedule. The final exam would be Wednesday May 8 at 8:00 A.M.
- For example, a class that normally meets Mo/We at 3:30 P.M. would follow the Mo/We/Fr 3:00 P.M. schedule. The final exam would be Wednesday May 8 at 1:30 P.M.
Classes that normally meet Tu/Th before 5:00 P.M. and are NOT listed on the Final Exam grid should “round” to the closest normal class starting time provided on the grid.
- For example, a class that normally meets Tu/Th 10:00 A.M. should round to the Tu/Th 9:30 A.M. schedule. The final exam would be Thursday May 9 at 8:00 A.M.
- For example, a class that normally meets Tu/Th 10:30 A.M. should round to the Tu/Th 11:00 A.M. schedule. The final exam would be Tuesday May 7 at 10:30 A.M.
- For example, a class that normally meets Tu/Th 3:00 P.M. should round to the Tu/Th 3:30 P.M. schedule.
Classes that normally meet on a single day before 5:00 P.M. should follow the schedule for the day-of-the-week pattern and the class’s start time UNLESS it is explicitly listed in the schedule.
- For example, a class that meets Monday 8:00 A.M. would follow the Mo/We/Fr 8:00 A.M. schedule. The final exam would be Monday May 6 at 8:00 A.M.

Faculty teaching Asynchronous online courses are strongly encouraged to offer online exams. Faculty planning to schedule a period during which students can take a final exam should include the schedule time on their syllabus and adhere to this schedule:
