Registration Errors and Solutions

Hold on Record

System Error Message
Add/Drop/Swap not processed. Hold on record.

Why am I getting this?
Student has a hold that is preventing registration. Each hold will have its own description, contacts and method of removal. Review the hold message carefully. 

What can I do?

  • Review the hold information and follow the directions listed in the message.
  • To view all the holds on your record, log into myUNT and select the Tasks tile. Each hold will have the description and contact information.
Mandatory Courses

System Error Message
You must enroll in all mandatory courses before enrolling in other courses. (26000,16001)

Enrollment in this class is not allowed at this time. You must enroll in all mandatory courses before continuing enrollment. Navigate to the appropriate page to view mandatory requirements.

Why am I getting this?
Student has not met TSI requirement and mandatory courses have been assigned.  

What can I do?

  • Review your mandatory courses on the Advising tile in myUNT.
  • Register for all mandatory courses before enrolling in any other courses. For questions regarding mandatory courses, contact your academic advisor or the Learning Center
Corequisites - Add

System Error Message
Corequisites not met for class. Not enrolled.

Why am I getting this?
Corequirements necessary to enroll in the class have not been met. The enrollment request was unsuccessful. 

What can I do?

  • Register for an alternative course.
  • Refer to your Degree Audit for course options within your degree plan.
  • Contact your academic advisor
Requisites

System Error Message
Unable to add this class as requisites have not been met.

Why am I getting this?
Requisites necessary to enroll in the class have not been met. The enrollment request was unsuccessful. 

What can I do?

Multiple Enrollment

System Error Message
Multiple enrollment not allowed for course. Add not processed

Why am I getting this?
Registering for the same course twice in the same term.  For example, enrolled in Regular and 8W1 session. 

What can I do?

Appointment

System Error Message
No valid appointment found and open enrollment period has not begun.

Why am I getting this?
Appointments are the dates and times when a student can register. Student is trying to register outside those times. 

What can I do?

  • View your appointment time through myUNT or visit When can I register? for registration times according to classification status. 
Maximum Hours Exceeded

System Error Message
Maximum term unit load exceeded. Add transaction not processed. The maximum term unit load would be exceeded.

Why am I getting this?
There is a maximum number of hours students may register for in a term or session. Registration is exceeding the limit. For more information, please visit the UNT course catalog

What can I do?

  • Review your registration and reduce your course load.
  • Contact your academic advisor for guidance. 
Time Conflict

System Error Message
Time scheduling conflict for class X and Y. Not enrolled. (14640,17)

A scheduling conflict exists with a currently enrolled class. Select another class, or override the time conflict.

Why am I getting this?
Attempting to register in a class that is scheduled to meet at the same time as a different course that is already on the current schedule.  

What can I do?

  • Find another section that does not have a time conflict.
  • Review and adjust your schedule to prevent time conflict.
  • Refer to your Degree Audit and course catalog for course options within your degree plan.
Departmental Consent

System Error Message
Department consent required to enroll in a class. Add not processed.

Consent is needed to enroll in the class. The add transaction was not processed. 

Why am I getting this?
The course is restricted for registration by the department.

What can I do?

  • Contact the department for approval. 
Closed Section

System Error Message
Not enrolled. Class X is full.

The requested enrollment add was not processed. The enrollment limit for the specified class has been reached. 

If available, choose the "waitlist ok" option and resubmit the request.

Why am I getting this?
The class is full. No remaining seats available. 

What can I do?

  • Register for an alternative course.
  • Refer to your Degree Audit for course options within your degree plan.
  • Contact your academic advisor.
  • If waitlist option is available, update your registration, select "waitlist" and resubmit your enrollment.
Mandatory Course Drop

System Error Message
"Drop" and "Drop to Waitlist" not allowed for mandatory classes. Please refer to the Registrar's website for procedures or use "Swap Classes" to choose a different section of the mandatory course.

Why am I getting this?
Students enrolled in a mandatory course will not be allow to drop the mandatory course. Swap function can be used to enrolled in a different open section.  

What can I do?

  • For questions regarding mandatory courses, please contact the Learning Center
Corequisites - Drop

System Error Message
Unable to drop class. Corequisites exist. 

The requested drop transaction was not processed.  Enrollment exists in a corequisite class(es). Class(es) must be dropped together.

Must have completed class X and class X.

Why am I getting this?
Student is enrolled in at least two courses which are co-requisited together. To drop one, they must either drop both or get special permission from the department to drop only one.

What can I do?

  • Drop both courses in question.
  • Contact the department.
  • Contact your academic advisor
